JOIN US TO FEED HUNGRY KIDS IN THE DMV

This #GivingTuesday, help us provide more nourishing meals to those in our local community who need our assistance this holiday season.

new 2025 Hunger Report from the Capital Area Food Bank has revealed just how sharply food insecurity is rising in our region. Food and nutrition insecurity is increasing year over year across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. In 2020, 24% of households in the DMV struggled to put food on the table. By 2023, that number rose to 30%. Today, the newly released report shows that 36% of households are food insecure, with 50,000 families projected to lose SNAP benefits this year.

The numbers are staggering, but together, we can make a difference. Ensuring children have access to nutritious meals is critical to their development and long-term health. With your help, we can ensure that more kids in the DMV receive the food they need to grow strong, stay focused in school, and enjoy a healthy future.

Every dollar you donate goes directly to feeding children and supporting nutrition education, giving them the tools they need to break the cycle of hunger.

This #GivingTuesday, join us in nourishing the future.

Donate today and help us feed hungry kids in the DMV. No gift is too small—every contribution makes an impact. Together, we can combat food insecurity and give children the healthy start they deserve.

Thank you for your generosity!

Today, you can help.

Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $25,000 on #GivingTuesday so that together we can provide thousands of free meals to food-insecure children and families in the DMV.

These fundraisers allow you to have a greater impact in the fight against hunger and other health-related issues.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

  • Sign up for a Real Food for Kids #GivingTuesday fundraiser page as a team or an individual.
  • Real Food for Kids provides you with a personalized, designated page and resources to use for promoting your fundraiser page.
  • You start to share your fundraiser page on various platforms, including social media, e-mail, the NextDoor app, online community groups, etc.
  • You collect donations on behalf of Real Food for Kids to provide fresh produce bags to children and families facing food and nutrition insecurity from now until December 2, 2025.
