RASA, a critically-acclaimed fast-casual Indian restaurant, is joining forces with Real Food for Kids to meet the needs of school children and their families in the Washington D.C. area who are facing food insecurity due to school closures and job losses.
Since March 17, with the financial support of sponsors, donors and generous local community members, the Real Food for Kids: Chefs Feeding Families initiative has served more than 10,000 free grab-and-go meals to families in the Washington, D.C. metro area who have been impacted by the school closures and job losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Real Food for Kids: Chefs Feeding Families meals program is going mobile. Using delivery vans and trucks funded by donations from generous individuals, community organizations and sponsors, the Chefs Feeding Families initiative will be able to transport meals directly from participating restaurants to locations accessible by families in underserved neighborhoods in the Washington, D.C.-area.
